The Best Time to Enroll
Your client’s one-time Medigap Open Enrollment Period generally lasts 6 months beginning the first month they are 65 or older and enrolled in Medicare Part B. During that period, they can buy any Medigap policy sold in their state without being denied because of pre-existing health conditions. Afterward, availability and pricing may be more limited unless they have a guaranteed-issue right or additional state protections.
